How do I get my emails directly from the server?

Forwarding to Another Address
If you have another email address to which you would like email from your web site sent, you can either use the Email Control Panel to do this, or we can do it for you at nominal charge.

For instance, let's say you have an account at MSN called bob@msn.com. At your web site you have an email address called info@mydomain.com. Any mail being sent to info@mydomain.com can be forwarded to bob@msn.com. This way you don't need to make any modifications to your mail program. For more information on mail forwarding click here.

Directly Accessing the Server
To retrieve email directly from your POP3 (incoming mail) mailbox, you must first setup your mail program to access your mailbox. We are presuming that the mailboxes are already setup on the server.

You must first access your mail program on your computer, for example OUTLOOK 98, Outlook Express, Eudora. Then add a new Account using the information provided below.

For example, in Outlook Express:
Tools --> Accounts -->Mail --> Add
Display Name: Whatever you wish
POP3 Server (incoming): mail.mydomain.com
SMTP Server (outgoing): SMTP server provided by your ISP
Account name: as provided to you
Password:as provided to you

After initializing the account, open it's Properties and make sure your mail program will not leave messages on the server after you retrieve them. Leaving messages on the server is not recommended as it only increases your disk space usage and eventually will slow down or shutdown your mail server. If you need to leave messages on the server, please contact us at about upgrading your email account.

About the SMTP Server setting: We strongly suggest that you use the SMTP server provided by your ISP for your outgoing mail. Alternatively, you can use mail.mydomain.com, however; this additional traffic will add to the total traffic (bandwidth) for your hosted account. It also adds a few more 'hops' to each mail you send as your ISP mail server is physically closer to you. This is why we recommend that you send emails through the SMTP (outgoing mail) server provided by your Internet Service Provider and receive emails from your POP3 account hosted on our server.

Important Note: Your mail will not work properly until your domain is fully propagated.
